Hi! I’m Dan!
I’ve always loved computers and technology. Some of my earliest memories are of me messing around with the family’s TRS-80 (if you’re too young, or too cool to know, that’s a really old computer, and it was the first one my family owned).
As the years went by, the computers got more sophisticated and my obsession grew. Any time I had was spent either using a computer or learning about them. By age 11, I had already built my very first computer, and there were many more to come.
When the internet became commonplace, my interest in IT deepened. The world opened up to me and I loved “all things IT.” You could say a career in IT was an obvious choice for me.
After studying at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, I realized that my true passion was still in IT. However, art has always been by my side, and I started my career as a Graphic Designer after receiving all my certifications from Adobe. I began working as an IT consultant, but after a few years, I moved on to work at a popular University in New Hampshire as a System Administrator and Webmaster. When I moved to Pennsylvania in 2008, I worked as a Government Contractor. I really enjoyed that job… Problem-solving, creative solutions, and seeing the difference I was making to the companies I worked with. It was very rewarding.
From there, I had the pleasure of working with and being the Director of Software Development with the world’s largest certified garment decorator and fulfillment center. There, I was able to work with most of the major sports leagues, such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL, and some of the largest brands in apparel, like New Balance, Reebok, Puma, Nike, Addidas, and more!
But while I loved my job and the clients I worked with, I found I was becoming really frustrated with the way that the public (and private sectors) did things. I soon found out that the clients didn’t always come first. The client wasn’t at the heart of everything that was being done. And to me, it was clear that profit was way more important than people, and that seemed wrong. After all, their success would be our success.
Throughout the years, I have always been involved in our church. I love it! But I saw the same thing in working with vendors and technology providers for our church… not only were they not putting the people they worked with first, and becoming fully invested in our success as a church, but they weren’t like-minded in our faith in Jesus. We were not of one accord and one heart, trying to do what is right, and trying to honor the Lord as well.
One day, something just clicked inside of me. I realized that I needed to take action. I needed too try to help other Christian Organizations sift through all of the technological noise and frustration, and to help them in the same way that I would help my church… To make a difference in what they do.
So, in 2019, I took a leap of faith and established RED SEA IT, and I never looked back.
Since then, we have grown in exactly the way I’d hoped for. I have an amazing team and get to work with like-minded Christians and organizations, and we have the privilege of being their trusted IT Support and Digital Marketing partner.
Our mission is simple… invest in each and every organization we work with, celebrating their success as if it were our own. Because really, it is. And as for me? Knowing that we have played a part in helping each Christian organization we work with be successful at what [they] do is the greatest reward. I wouldn’t change it for anything.
